What's Next for Dan Owen: The Rising Star of Shropshire's Music Scene

Dan Owen has been a big name in the world of Shropshire’s music scene for over a decade -for good reason.

He’s already done so much: toured Europe, the US, the UK (on his bike), played countless festivals including Glastonbury and The Great Escape, recorded a BBC session at Maida Vale, had his music used on a Hollywood film trailer, and amassed millions of streams of his music.

When you see him perform live...you understand why. 

At the Salopian Mixtape launch night he smashed it out of the park. On the eve of the release of his latest album Willow Tree, he only played his new material. Despite nobody knowing the songs already, the audience were captivated. One of my favourite moments of the night was someone coming up to us afterwards, desperate to know who that incredible musician was. The answer: Dan Owen.

This live and gritty performance of Bring Back Love at our launch night was an absolute highlight.

As a recording, Bring Back Love is lyrically beautiful and features a haunting, ethereal reverb on Dan's vocal. His powerful voice is teamed with a delicate, stripped back piano accompaniment, bringing together a truly stunning piece of music. On the launch night, Dan appeared to connect with Bring Back Love on an even deeper level. He combined a heavier electric guitar accompaniment, with an extended vocal arrangement which demonstrated the skill, vocal control and star quality of one of Shropshire's finest performers.

So what's next for Dan Owen?

As an independent artist, Dan is positively pushing his music to all the right places, whilst maintaining a sound he connects with. His following locally and beyond remains strong, with his gigs selling out in no time. Dan appears to be working hard to build his profile on social media and reach new audiences.

We can only hope that Dan Owen's audience continues to grow and his music can reach the ears of far more people. Trust us when we say he is an artist not to be missed on a live stage!
